Rotorua is a city on the North Island of New Zealand famous for its GEO Thermal Pools.  It is also centrally located and a good jumping off point for several other major cities and attractions like Hobbiton.  During our stay in Rotorua our lovely neighbors allowed us the use of their beautiful lake house featured in the video below.  This was probably one of my favorite places we stayed at during our two week trip to New Zealand, which included stops in Queenstown, Taupo, Milford Sound, and Wellington.  As you can see from the video the house blends into the subtropical rain forest and has an expansive view of the lake.  I also posted this video, because I love the sounds of the birds which are nothing like what you hear in the US.  At night the kids could see most of the Milky Way and glow worms on the stone wall of the driveway.
